This is a great example of sugar quartz with good clarity and lots of smaller points. Sugar Quartz is named after its resemblance to a sparkling sugar coating, of smaller sparkling quartz points formed all over the main quartz point in an almost parrallel direction. This quartz crystal found in madagsgar measures 5cm x 4cm x 3cm in size. Sugar quartz can vary between a white colour to very clear quartz, some having inclussions of iron and hematite, giving a colour. This particular crystal is one of the most clear in the current batch of sugar quartz.
